![]() ![]() The threat of heavy rainfall and flash flooding has been spreading over portions of Mississippi, Alabama and the western Florida Panhandle. Ida's maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph with higher gusts and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 195 miles from the center. The storm is moving northward near 9 mph and is forecast to pass over northeastern Mississippi tonight, across the Tennessee Valley on Tuesday and near the central Appalachians on Wednesday.
